“On behalf of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab’s Manatee Sighting Network, I want to thank Save the Manatee Club for ongoing support of our manatee education and outreach program. With Save the Manatee Club’s help, we have distributed more than 250 manatee awareness signs in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. We also are very pleased with the success of the manatee adoption program for Alabama. We could not have raised these funds or raised awareness as effectively without Save the Manatee Club’s help.”

Free Public Awareness Sign for Shoreline Property Owners in Alabama
The sign, which is aluminum and 24″ x 18″ in size, reads, “Slow Please — Report Manatees: 1-866-493-5803.” It is designed to alert boaters to the presence of manatees in the waterways. Alabama shoreline property owners can post one on their dock to let boaters know that manatees might be in the area. To request a sign, send an email to manatee@disl.org.
