Parking will take place at the Kings Bay Plaza parking lot, located on the corner of North Suncoast Blvd and Kings Bay Drive in Crystal River, FL. Handicapped parking will also be available at Three Sisters Springs.
This year’s Refuge Day will offer a free shuttle service from Kings Bay Plaza into Three Sisters Springs, starting at 9 a.m. with the last bus departing Kings Bay Plaza at 2:15 p.m.
Refuge Day brings wildlife exhibits including live birds of prey, interactive games, a marine touch tank and other wildlife related exhibits. Music will be playing while BBQ food will be available for purchase.
Representatives from a variety of local non-profit organizations, including Save the Manatee Club, along with state and federal agencies, will be there to help promote Citrus County’s bountiful natural resources.
This event is sponsored by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Friends of Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge Complex, the city of Crystal River and the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
