Science and Policy Internship
Save the Manatee Club is seeking applicants for an unpaid science and policy internship for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019. The intern will support senior Conservation Department staff in efforts to protect threatened manatees and their aquatic habitat. Depending on the successful candidate’s background, duties may include evaluating development permits, proposed water quality regulations, municipal government and legislative initiatives, and miscellaneous habitat and species protection measures. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and self-motivated, possess strong writing abilities and a commitment to public interest work, and have a background in environmental science, policy, and/or law.

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. The position can be either remote or based in Tallahassee, Florida.
Policy and Management Internships
Save the Manatee Club seeks interns year-round to assist with policy and management activities at our Maitland, Florida office.
Undergraduates are welcome to submit inquiries for unpaid internships in Save the Manatee Club’s Science & Conservation Department with flexible start dates year-round. Florida candidates in Volusia County or the Orlando or Tallahassee areas are preferred, but excellent candidates from other areas will be considered as will students able to relocate for several months. Interested students should submit current academic transcripts (unofficial is fine), an updated CV, a statement explaining why an internship with SMC’s Science & Conservation Department is sought, and 3 references to firstname.lastname@example.org.
