We Need Volunteers!

You can help Save the Manatee Club by becoming a Club volunteer. SMC volunteers staff tables at manatee-related events, engage in speaking presentations, help out in the SMC offices, write letters and send e-mails on issues of concern to manatees, and report information to manatee researchers. You can make a difference for manatees!

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our Online Volunteer Application.

If you have additional questions, please send an e-mail to volunteer@savethemanatee.org or call our office toll-free at 1-800-432-JOIN (5646) and ask for Janice Nearing, Public Relations Director.

Save the Manatee Club's Volunteer Rewards Program!

Current Club members/volunteers can earn points toward special volunteer merchandise.

Crystal River Manatee Festival: Cold Days, But Such Warm Hearts!

Once a Teacher, Always a Teacher
Ann Hemme and Mary Bourassa Put Their Skills to Work for Manatees

Tiny the Manatee Goes to Her New Home
"Tiny" the plush manatee at the driver's seat in the Adsit family car.
In the Adsit family, a huge love for manatees puts Tiny right in the driver's seat! Although it was Cathy Adsit from Pennsylvania who actually won "Tiny," the big plush manatee, at this year's Blue Spring State Park donation drawing, it was Cathy's mom, Martha (in photo with Tiny), who made the long road trip from Florida to Pennsylvania to deliver the big 'ol cuddly manatee to her new home and owner. Okay, Tiny didn't really drive Martha's vehicle, but we just couldn't resist this photo op taken by Club staffer Marcy Taylor.
