| Club volunteer Doug Brown interacts with a group of elementary students from the St Johns County area during the annual Environmental Education Fair – Kids Ocean Day – held recently at Anastasia Park, Florida. The Club was one of many “learning stations” where approximately 600 students rotated at 10-12 minute increments to share lessons of ocean literacy. Deb and Doug Brown worked with the young student groups on a 20-question manatee puzzle which the Browns cleverly created and produced themselves. Kudos to the Browns who are amazing volunteers and have been strong advocates for the manatees for decades! (Photo by Deb Brown.) |
We Need Volunteers!
You can help Save the Manatee Club by becoming a Club volunteer. SMC volunteers staff tables at manatee-related events, engage in speaking presentations, help out in the SMC offices, write letters and send e-mails on issues of concern to manatees, and report information to manatee researchers. You can make a difference for manatees!
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our Online Volunteer Application.
If you have additional questions, please send an e-mail to volunteer@savethemanatee.org or call our office toll-free at 1-800-432-JOIN (5646) and ask for Janice Nearing, Public Relations Director.
