Volunteer for SMC

Family Fun Day at Ding Darling NWR

A bit of rain and wind and then the sun shone brightly all weekend during the annual Blue Spring Manatee Festival in Orange City, Florida. Up at the state park, there were plenty of manatees to see and the Club's education booth to visit. New Club member Wendy Michaels graciously offered to face-paint manatees on the children and any willing adults, and people stopped to take photos with Hope (in photo above), the giant inflatable manatee. Down at the festival site in Valentine Park, the Club had another education table, along with manatee puppets for the children to make. Many thanks to all our volunteers including: Wayne Hartley, Cora Berchem, Tonya Higgins, Terry Nearing, Deb and Doug Brown, Crystal Cobb, Whitney Watson, Lynne & Paul Sternett, Alexis Sullivan, Heather Murphy, Jessica Eberst, Melissa Johnston, Sandra Boyd, Mina Reale, and Trinket Mason. You're all wonderful!

We Need Volunteers!

You can help Save the Manatee Club by becoming a Club volunteer. SMC volunteers staff tables at manatee-related events, engage in speaking presentations, help out in the SMC offices, write letters and send e-mails on issues of concern to manatees, and report information to manatee researchers. You can make a difference for manatees!

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our Online Volunteer Application.

For those wishing to inquire about earning community service hours at the Club's office in Maitland, Florida, please do not fill out the Online Volunteer Application form.
