For Immediate Release
Beginning in June, Tradewinds Kettle Brewed Teas will carry a unique conservation message. The inside of their 16 ounce glass bottle caps and the label of their gallon plastic jugs will feature Save the Manatee Club’s web site address and bear the message, “Tradewinds is happy to lend support to Save the Manatee Club.”
This promotion marks the second time the Tradewinds Beverage Company of Cincinnati, Ohio has teamed up with the Club to help raise the public’s awareness about the endangered manatee. From 1993 to 1996, Tradewinds packaging carried Save the Manatee Club’s toll-free phone number,1-800-432-JOIN. This latest joint effort is even better as it will allow Tradewinds’ customers to tap into a world of manatee information at the Club’s website.
It is expected this promotion will generate 15-20 million impressions on Tradewinds’ products. “Millions of people who may not have otherwise known about manatees will now have the opportunity to be educated about the plight of one of America’s extraordinarily unique species, thanks to the wonderful efforts of Tradewinds,” said Judith Vallee, Executive Director of the Club. “Tradewinds is helping to raise much needed public awareness and they are also providing funding for our vital conservation programs,” she added.
Tradewinds is famous for their Kettle Brewed Teas with 12 varieties currently available in their 16 ounce glass bottles and 6 varieties available in their gallon plastic jugs. Their authentic brewing process uses real leaf teas. “Tradewinds Teas, with its sun and palm trees feel, is the perfect vehicle for raising awareness about the manatee. Our business is built on the loyalty of our customers who truly appreciate the quality taste of tea. People who love our tea will surely love the manatee, too,” stated Christy Lichtendahl, Tradewinds Beverage Company’s Marketing Director.
Tradewinds is available in select grocery and mass merchandise stores nationwide. For more information about Tradewinds Iced Teas, visit www.tradewinds-tea.com.
Save the Manatee Club was started in 1981 by U.S. Senator Bob Graham and singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett so the general public could participate in conservation efforts to save the endangered manatee. The Club is now one of the largest organizations in the world devoted to the protection of a single species.
