New Book Features Manatee Mystery

A new mystery book by author Jessica Speart is now available and endangered manatees are the main attraction -- literally! The book is titled Coastal Disturbance and features U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Special Agent Rachel Porter. In the novel, Porter has been dispatched to the coastal swampland of Georgia where she discovers an illegal manatee water park. She also finds that manatees are dying at an alarming rate for unknown reasons. Soon, people begin to dying as well...
The topic of endangered species is not a new one for Jessica Speart. She began her writing career as an investigative journalist, focusing on endangered species issues, wildlife law enforcement, and the environment. She has written seven books that focus on wildlife crimes and the plight of endangered species, and she has worked alongside U.S. Fish and Wildlife agents from across the country to research topics for her books.
Jessica will be making several appearances at book stores, libraries, and festivals from March through July, and she will be including information on manatees and Save the Manatee Club in her lectures.
