 In August, a new manatee was added to the list of available adoptees at Blue Spring State Park. But although she's new to the list, Georgia has been a frequent Blue Spring winter visitor. Rescued as an orphan in 1991, Georgia has wintered at Blue Spring ever since she was released there – much to the delight (and aggravation!) of park visitors and staff. Go >>
Ask Governor Crist to Appoint Science-Based Leadership for FWC
 Please take a moment to send a quick online letter urging Governor Charlie Crist to appoint balanced and science-based leadership for manatees and other Florida wildlife. Terms for four FWC Commissioners will expire soon. The commissioners set the direction for this important agency and directly affect manatee protection efforts in Florida.

Alec Baldwin Speaks Up for Manatees
 Golden Globe award-winning actor and activist Alec Baldwin, star of the NBC sitcom 30 Rock, recently recorded audio public service announcements for Save the Manatee Club. Fans of The Simpsons may recall Baldwin as the voice of Caleb Thorn, a marine biologist dedicated to saving manatees on the show’s 2005 season premiere. Listen now >>
